Zero to Coder:

We offer several hands-on workshops that teach “coding in the real world.” Each class will be filled with both learning code and lots of hands on fun. We feel that learning to code should be also be creative, so your child will create several items to take home with them when the complete the class.

Our workshops consist of 4 progressively intensive classes that can be put on as a consecutive four day workshop or as a one day per week workshop spread out over one month.  Each workshop will also teach valuable skills and experience with common electronics tools.  Our workshops are geared toward children age 8-14 but can be easily modified for older groups.

Website Creation:

In this 4 week workshop we will introduce basic HTML, CSS, and the popular Website and Blogging platform WordPress. Your child will create their own free WordPress account and jump into the world of Web Design by creating their own website quickly and easily in WordPress. This will give them the basic understanding of “Best Practices” in designing a user-friendly website or Blog. They will then delve into building the backbone of their site in basic HTML and then Recreating their WordPress sites “look” in CSS.

Scratch Programing:

In each of these four week workshops we will  introduce the programming platform Scratch developed by MIT to help teach programming to kids of all ages. Your child will create a Scratch account and will be able to use everything they learn in class after they get home. They will be able to create all kinds of things from animated cards to art, games, music and more to share with family and friends.
